    1. ‘Bumph’ – Means Useless printed instructions or manuals. The word originated in England during World War II when English soldiers were overwhelmed with unnecessary printed materials and used them as they would toilet paper or “bum fodder”. Which developed into ‘Bumph’ over the years. ‘Bum” is the English slang equivalent of the American slang word ‘Butt’.) Many Church of England Churches have signs of vandalism by the Reformers of the 1500’s when Catholicism was outlawed. Today the Church of England still has these ex Catholic buildings. Thanks so much for the link.
